In this area we would like to provide some information for our international visitors and for our foreign players' families, of course. We are trying everything to keep this section of the page as up to date as possible. Currently there is just one person working on it, others will follow pretty soon - for the time given we appologize for any delay regarding game reports. They might take a couple of days. Oh, and please don't take a too close look at our grammar and spelling.... We all hope that you will enjoy this area of our site and we really appreciate all of your comments. Feel free to post in our guestbook (Gästebuch) and / or forum (Forum). We will soon add instructions in English for both so that you can use it without any German knowledge. Have a great time visiting our page.

Last year's team leader in 6 of 7 categories, Trevor Howell, will "be back in red" this season. With an AVG of .411 and 4 Homers, we're looking forward to some exciting baseball action at Hoeschpark in 2010.
The catcher from California had 216 put outs last year. He was also third best batter in the league. Coach Kemp is happy that Howell signed with the Wanderers again and that he will fit perfectly into the line-up. The season opener will already be in a couple of weeks on April 3rd at home. The Wanderers will host the Stealers who are now coached by former Dortmund Coach Jens Hawlitzky. This should become an interesting "reunion". DORTMUND WANDERERS vs. HSV HAMBURG STEALERSHoeschpark Dortmund Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. |

The Dortmund Wanderers are thrilled to announce that former Northern League pitcher Matt Kemp has taken over as Head Coach for the 2010 season. The 27 year old Kemp pitched 2 seasons with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks, Edmonton Crackercats, and Winnipeg Goldeyes of the Independent Northern League before joining the Wanderers in 2008.
In two full seasons pitching for the Wanderers, Kemp amassed a 3.29 ERA in 161.1 IP while striking out 167. He also, during that time, served as the pitching coach of the Wanderers and in 2009 he took over duties as the Head Coach of Dortmund's second team. The past winter Kemp played in South Africa and is currently playing in Australia while also serving as pitching coach for his respective clubs the Blaauwberg Cardinals (South Africa) and the Fitzroy Lions (Australia). |

At the end of the season, Dortmund has managed to not just stay in the league after just moving up last year. With today's win of the Solingen Alligators in Bonn it is settled, we are in the 2008 Playoffs!
Coaches Hawlitzky and Steinmetz are looking back at a very exciting season with lots of very close games and emotional duells. The team has definitely arrived in the first league and they surprised a lot of players, coaches and fans. The goal of the season was to stay in the league and this goal has already been reached, there is no moving down for us. It is time for the real deal, the playoffs! Dortmund will most likely end in fourth place unless Cologne is going to stumble versus Hannover, so the first opponent will be the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe, who are in first place in the south. Game one and two are scheduled for the first weekend in August 2008 in Dortmund. There will be at least one game played n Heidenheim a week after since this is a best of five series. In case games four and five are needed they have to be played the same weekend at the same location. That is at least one more bus trip for the team and our fans. Tune in for details and tickets on this page later. TIME TO PARTY NOW! |

Finally the waiting had an end. After the rain-out in the beginning of April the fans could now celebrate the debut of the Wanderers in the first league at the home field. And the waiting paid off. |

First League - Dortmund vs. Hamburg 2008, April 19
The third official league day was predicted to be the first evaluation of where the team really stands. After a rainout versus Cologne at the home field and two very tight games versus Paderborn, one of the ruling teams of the last decade, Hamburg was supposed to be one of the "even" teams which the Wanderers, who have their first league premiere this season, could compete with. Not just baseball insiders were anxious to see what the new league member was going to be able to show far away from home. |
